The National Stem Cell Foundation (NSCF) is a Louisville-based non-profit that focuses on research, advocacy and education. They fund adult stem cell and regenerative medicine research, connect children with limited resources to clinical trials for rare diseases, and underwrite a professional development program for middle school science teachers inspiring the next generation of STEM pioneers nationwide. Originally established to fund adult stem cell research and clinical trials, the foundation soon realized research funding wasn\u2019t the only obstacle to advancing curative therapies into mainstream availability. The often unaffordable out-of-pocket costs of clinical trial participation and a critical shortage of U.S. STEM educated professionals became obvious bottlenecks. In 2015, they added education and advocacy to their mission and created interconnected programs designed to address the full spectrum of need. They build collaborations, form strategic partnerships and leverage their relationships across all three platforms \u2013research, advocacy and education \u2013 to solve problems, eliminate duplication and magnify donor impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paula P. Grisanti, D.M.D.
Dr. Grisanti is CEO and a founding member of the National Stem Cell
Foundation, headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky. She holds a D.M.D. and
MBA from the University of Louisville and has been actively involved in
entrepreneurial activities for most of her career. She has served on multiple
community and advisory boards in Kentucky, and is currently an officer of
the International Women\u2019s Forum (IWF) Kentucky Chapter, a member of the Executive Women\u2019s Advisory Board to the Business School at the University of Louisville, the Louisville Metro Board of Health, and the Jewish Family and Career Services Advisory Committee. She also serves as a mentor for Women In Advanced Therapies, an initiative of Phacilitate. She is an honorary board member of the Louisville Ballet, and was Business First\u2019s 2018 Health Care Hero in the category of innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
