In the state of Kentucky the number of unfilled cybersecurity-related professional openings (http:\/\/cyberseek.org\/heatmap.html), underscores the need for training and development in this technology category for all businesses, so the area\u2019s tech council has assembled a lineup of speakers to assist in addressing this issue for a full-day Cybersecurity Summit on June 15th, from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM. <\/p>\n

TALK, the Technology Association of Louisville Kentucky, will hold its first annual Cybersecurity Summit, in partnership, at the Louisville Central Community Center highlighting the Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer\u2019s new Gigabit Experience. Several national speakers will be presenting, including Keynote Rodney Petersen, Director of the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE), which is a division of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). <\/p>\n

Kentucky\u2019s Lt. Governor Jenean Hampton has confirmed her attendance for all afternoon sessions, including the scheduled interactive session with the audience on its needs and concerns.<\/p>\n

The program, which is free and open to the public, is as follows:

9 AM Keynote: \u201cThe Importance of Cybersecurity in Our Workforce and Corporate Worlds,\u201d Rodney Petersen, Director, National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)<\/p>\n

10 AM: \u201cCase Studies in Network Vulnerability Assessments,\u201d Chris Goggans, CIO of PatchAdvisor<\/p>\n

11 AM: \u201cCybersecurity and Its Implications on Trade,\u201d Robert Brown, Attorney-At-Law, Lynch, Cox, Gilman & Goodman, P.S.C. <\/p>\n

Noon Lunch Networking \u2013 Box Lunch Available \/ Optional <\/p>\n

1 PM: \u201cThe Unveiling of the State\u2019s New Cyber Education Pathway for K-12\u201d–Kevin Nolten, National Cyber Innovation Center; Ryan Deal, Jefferson County Public Schools; and Scott U\u2019Sellis, KY Department of Education<\/p>\n

2 PM: A World Caf\u00e9 Session with The Audience on Cybersecurity Concerns and Considerations, with Facilitators — President of Aspectx and Executive Director of TALK, Dawn Yankeelov, and Daniel Spector, Principal, Simon Everett, Ltd. involved with the state\u2019s 2017 Cyber Survey.<\/p>\n

3 PM: Kevin Hofstra, Chief Technology Officer for Metova CyberCENTS, \u201cTraining the Next Generation Cyber Warrior: An Emulated, Realistic and Risk-Free Cyber Battlespace\u201d <\/p>\n

Audience participation is expected to be up to 200 area tech professionals and other C-suite types seeking more engagement regarding cybersecurity.
