Media Arts Consultant, KY Department of Education and <strong>Ryan Deal<\/strong>, Business and IT College and Career Readiness Specialist, Jefferson County Public Schools<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe State\u2019s Cybersecurity Pathway for Teens and What is Ahead\u201d will give insight into how the state has adopted a proactive pathway model for teens in 9th through 12th grade that will go into the classroom beginning in this next semester both in Jefferson County Public Schools as well as other school districts across the state.<\/p>\n<p>Kentucky is only the second state to adopt the cyber engineering curricula created by NICERC, a federal agency, thanks to TALK\u2019s effort to bring this curricula to the state and address a workforce demand.\u00a0 Scott and Ryan will explore and define the available IT pathways being used in the classroom, how this impacts the future workforce, and why it is important to see more computer science in our schools in general.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/wp.talklou.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/scottusellis.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-745\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-745 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/wp.talklou.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/scottusellis.jpg\" alt=\"scottusellis\" width=\"215\" height=\"215\" srcset=\"https:\/\/talklou.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/scottusellis.jpg 215w, https:\/\/talklou.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/scottusellis-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 215px) 100vw, 215px\" \/><\/a><em>Scott U&#8217;Sellis, Information Technology &amp;
