Date & Time: Formerly known as Thurby, Sept. 3, at Noon (Bring Your Lunch & Join Us at the Computer)
Chase Chamberlin will give us the rundown on his startup along with his partner, Brian Doxtator.
Location: On Zoom
Register: On Eventbrite
In this virtual TALK event, we intend to have some fun talking Kentucky Derby and Oaks, with two men that have created a new app to assist you in bringing the excitement of horse ownership to you.
JoinCommonwealth.com takes you to an Iphone app that allows individuals to own a small stake in a racing horse with special perks, and for a fractional cost. Invest in real racehorses and experience the thrill of ownership, starting around $50/share and zero ongoing expenses. Chase Chamberlin will give us the rundown on his startup along with his partner, Brian Doxtator.
This story will inspire you to take some chances and see how tech can be for those fun pursuits that turn your head. With this app, if your horse wins, you’ll receive your portion of the horse’s net earnings whether from race purses, private sales or even future breeding earnings. Timing of distributions is at the discretion of the manager.
Those who sign up on the app and join, receive weekly updates, behind the scenes content, and race replays.
Let’s also talk Derby with a CJ Trackside Reporter Jennie Rees who covers the action at the end of this session, and you’ll be ready for this year’s special fall KY Derby. Then a bit of networking and since this is virtual, you are back to work in the blink of an eye.
(Wear your favorite Derby hat or other attire! Of course, because we can see you on Zoom! The link for the event will be sent at least once before the event and on the day of the event! At TALK, the Technology Association of Louisville KY, Louisville-Ky.’s local tech council, we look forward to seeing you!
